“Think of self-care as a tool for sustainability. Can you continue to live your current lifestyle without putting your future health and well-being at risk?” On the season finale of Marbles Lost and Found, Zain and Avanti talk to Pune based creative director and journalist, Sheena Dabholkar, who recently founded the self-care and well-being education platform, Mindful and Body. Sheena emphasizes on programming your pleasures, being mindful about what you eat and creating healthy and good relationships. She also implies how anything that adds value to your life is a step towards self-care. Notes:

  • When this started, my initial reaction was “Wasn’t this the lady who kicked off a MeToo storm in Pune about a bar?” It was.
  • Apart from that, the usual. Actually, I don’t know if calling out the social media consumerism that gets called self care is the usual or not. It did say “Exercise and saying no are more important self care than buying a facial. (Though buying the facial is important too.)”
  • And made a point about how growing up, we are made to feel guilty about thinking that we deserve something.
